MTN Ready® Acclimation Drink Mix

I’ve lived in Aspen, Colorado for most of my life. Now that I’m 85, I’ve started to feel the effects of altitude more than I used to. I often experience dull headaches, shortness of breath and restless sleep that never used to be an issue when I was young. I started using MTN Ready daily and it’s had a huge impact on my quality of life. I have more energy, sleep more soundly and wake up clear-headed. Those altitude headaches are rare now and I feel more at ease living at 8,000 feet. Easy to drink and helpful at altitude!

I’m in my 70s and have been hiking for just three years. Last year, a friend gave me a few packets of MTN Ready to use when first hiking at over 8,000 feet.
1) Drinking the solution before heading out, I had no trouble with the Caribou Ranch Trail moderate elevation gain. Breathing was effortless but I wondered if it was because I was becoming acclimated to higher environs.
2) The next major test was Walker Ranch Loop at 7,300 feet but with an elevation gain of 1,600 feet and temps rising into the mid-90s. As we ascended after lunch alongside the spectacular South Boulder Creek rapids, our older adult group was feeling it. Wondering if I’d be able to continue, I emptied a MTN Ready packet into my remaining water supply, drank a good portion, and rested for ten minutes. Starting out again, I steadily regained my 2+ mph trail speed and finished the ascent to the trailhead, a couple miles, without hesitating. TY, MTN Ready!
3) I purchased the holiday BOGO 50% offer to replenish my supply. My partner and I spent a recent weekend hiking in RMNP with temps in the 20s and two feet of packed snow. We drank a packet’s solution each day before heading out and neither of us had any breathing issues. Day 1 was the Bear Lake corridor up to Emerald Lake at over 10,000 feet. Day 2 was Longs Peak through the pines to the tree line at 11,000 feet, with some harsh, windy conditions. Our breathing was strong and sure.
I’m a MTN Ready believer and recommend it to anyone venturing into high altitudes and cold environments. My results have consistently been impressive. Drink one packet in water before heading out and then mix another packet in a bottle to sip. Happy trails!
